The Zeni Costalago Bianco delle Venezie IGT adorns your glass in bright straw yellow with delicate green reflections. The bouquet delights with floral accents, sparkling citrus notes and sun-drenched tropical fruit. Intense start. Very juicy, charmingly mineral and perfectly balanced, the delicate cuvée shows itself on the palate, with a rich body, refreshing fruit acidity and great facet richness. Ripe white fruits carry into a long lasting finale. What a great performance, which Luca Maroni honours with 90 points!
The best of Garganega and Chardonnay combined in perfection – Venetia’s talented dream couple will inspire you too!
Cuvées from the old regional grape variety Garganega and the white “world star” Chardonnay are typical of Veneto. Both varieties are “gifted” in expressing the terroir in which they thrive. In cooler climates apple, flint and generous fruit acid appear; warmer climates produce stone fruit, tropical fruit; honey and spices. Since Veneto has a transitional climate, Garganega-Chardonnay blends tend to move somewhere between these two poles. While the dominant Garganega provides exotic spice, citric and nutty aromas, it is the task of the Chardonnay to add fullness and complexity to the wine. This is teamwork at its finest – from which the ingenious Zeni Costalago Bianco delle Venezie emerges.
