If the eponymous sea snake had known how delicious the Montemajor Torre del Serpente Negroamaro Salento IGP 2015 tastes, it would not have drunk the oil from the ancient beacon – but this ingenious Negroamaro from Montemajor!
Already the bouquet fascinates with intense aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by floral violet notes, fine wood nuances and a delicate touch of vanilla. Soft and warm, the Torre del Serpente caresses the palate. Its fresh fruit acidity lifts it, with all its fullness, to airy heights. Mineral hints complement fruit and spice in the finish. A feast for the senses with pleasant tannins and wonderful length.

Torre del Serpente (Snake Tower) is the name of a lighthouse on the coast of Salento that probably dates back to Roman times. It is said that a sea snake crawled out of the floods regularly at night to drink the oil. The beacon went out and many ships crashed at the cliffs. Once, however, the greedy reptile saved the city of Otranto from an enemy ship that, misguided, attacked Brindisi instead.
This wine is also a true “lighthouse”. It shines enticingly in the dark wine cellar and reliably shows the way to the highest enjoyment.
