In the much-vaunted Lodi subregion, only the very best Zinfandel grapes were hand-picked for the Mauro Americano Zinfandel Reserve Lodi California 2016. In American oak a noble drop matured, which may call itself reserve.
Look forward to a rich scent composition of overripe plum and blackcurrant, refined with nuances of toasted oak, vanilla and chocolate. Full-bodied and strong, very fresh and pleasantly “unpolished”, the premium tinandel hits the palate – with a wonderful taste of dark berries, some liquorice and oak wood. No trace of tannin – the Mauro Americano Zinfandel Reserve Lodi is not necessary!
We can’t get enough of the powerful Mauro Americano Zinfandel Reserve Lodi California!
California’s wine paradise is famous for the full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons from Napa, “oak-woody” Chardonnays from Sonoma – and the powerful Zinfandels from the Lodi subregion. Zinfandel, this “typically American” grape variety with the name which does not seem to be “American” at all, has a (long reaching) Croatian “migration background” – and is (almost) identical with the popular Primitivo from Apulia. But even if in two hundred years of “separate socialization” in such different terroirs and cultural areas small, fine deviations have developed – basically primitivo and Zinfandel lovers “hunt” the same, delicious “prey”. And for good reason!
